Lead Consultant Biomedical Scientist / HPV Pathway Manager


You will be expected to provide leadership, advice, support and development to a wide variety of UHDB staff, and to chair the Trusts' cervical screening management group and represent cervical screening at the Trusts' Screening Committee.


You will play a lead role in ensuring that standards are met and that key messages and changes are communicated across the whole screening pathway.

Within cervical cytology you will report abnormal cervical cytology samples and participate in Colposcopy MDTs and training junior doctors on rotation with 3 other CBMS's.


Working alongside consultant pathologists, biomedical scientists and senior managers you will advise on the strategic direction and development of the department.


CSPL


Key to the
CSPL role is monitoring the performance of all UHDB CSP services and presenting performance reports to the local programme board.

You will ensure that systems are in place to register newly diagnosed cases of cervical cancer.

You will co-ordinate the audit of these cases and prepare reports for disclosure.

You will lead on the production of annual reports as required by cervical screening commissioners and SQAS, for whom you will be the main point of contact within the Trust.
