Castell Howell Foods is Wales' leading independent food service wholesaler, servicing the length and breadth of Wales, the Border Counties and the South West of England.

We currently have a vacancy for a
Transport Yard Assistant/Driver based at our Cross Hands depot.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Wash all lorries and vans at least twice a week both (more if needed) internally and externally and ensure the cleanliness of the lorries is maintained to a very high standard as expected of a food distribution company
  • Refuel the lorries ensuring the correct tanks are used and maintain fuel register
  • Check oil and water and other fluids daily and top up where appropriate
  • Empty lorries of all rubbish and waste materials and dispose of correctly in the bins/machines provided
  • Undertake minor repairs to the lorries e.g. replace light bulbs, mirrors, fuses etc.
  • Driving duties as and when required by the management team

Applicants must hold:

  • CE (Class 1) Licence
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • DCPC Card

What we offer:


  • A full time position working Sunday-Thursday 09:0018:00
- £33,696.00 per annum (pay award pending)
