An exciting opportunity has arisen at Greater Manchester Police (GMP) within our currently expanding Corporate Development Branch.
We are seeking Expressions of Interest, together with a CV, from applicants who wish to play an important part in supporting the delivery of an excellent strategy, policy, planning and corporate governance service within the organisation.
About the Role:
We are looking to appoint two Strategy, Policy, Planning and Governance Assistants, to provide an efficient and value-adding service to meet the needs of the Force.
- Gather, analyse, evaluate, and present via report, (or other format), a variety of information as a part of a longer-term project or programme.
- Design and undertake a variety of research, review, and evaluation projects.
- Provide advice and guidance to districts and departments undertaking their own projects and data analysis.
- Liaise with stakeholders across GMP, and externally, to provide a strategy, planning policy or governance service.

- Using spreadsheets/database systems to capture, analyse and present information
- Drafting reports
- Summarising information and presenting findings
- Using a range of Microsoft products, including the internet.

- To collate, evaluate, and analyse complex information from various sources. To prepare written reports and present information in a variety of formats, including graphs, charts, and tables. Drawing conclusions and making recommendations for various meetings.
- To give advice and guidance on your area of work internally to districts, branches and to external organisations, e.g. Mayor's Office, Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS), Home Office.
- Conduct research and development to assist with environmental scanning, monitoring developments in policing, government, and the wider environment and analyse the impact of these on GMP policy.
- Provide research, and policy writing support to the Strategy, Policy and Planning Officers within the unit.
