BCHA are a diverse and growing specialist housing, learning and support provider.

We are currently recruiting for
a Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team at
The Factory our bespoke building in Poole.


The Factory Team work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, predominately in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area, by offering a range of services, including, Co-working desk hire, Conferencing and training facilities, Boardroom/Meeting room hire, business rental space, community café and garden space offering volunteer opportunities.


Position:


You will be responsible for coordinating a range of functions that will meet the needs of the customers, working with a wide range of people, from businesses, local authorities, colleagues of BCHA and the wider community, in a wide range and innovative program of activities.


You will be responsible for engaging with individuals, families, councillors and community groups who are under-represented in the area, you will support them to come together to access services and training while increasing participation and reducing isolation.

  • Identify, maintain and strengthen links with relevant local community organisations, community and faith groups, GPs and stakeholders.
  • Identify barriers to accessing services within the local communities and formulate strategies as to how these might be overcome.
  • Develop and assist with the delivery of support sessions, workshops and training.
  • Source training in relation to the programmes objectives.
- liaise with external providers to access services that support customers

Requirements:

Strong communication skills (ability to communicate with our customers)

Experience working within resident / customer engagement

Excellent presentation skills

Able to demonstrate that you put the customer at the heart of all you do

Ability to handle situations of conflict or potential conflict with customers who may be distressed or potentially aggressive and to do so in line with BCHA's policies and procedures

Evidence of ability to use the full Microsoft Office Suite of tools

Knowledge of online video platforms including Teams and Zoom

Ability to use social media to create awareness of generate interest

Able to demonstrate you are an effective team worker (and able to work effectively on your own, if required)
