We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our new Adult ADHD/ASD service.

You will be working closely with the Occupational Therapist who supports people with ADHD or ASD.

You will join a developing and innovative service that aims to provide the right care and treatment at the right time, to individuals within each area.

Delivering occupational therapy interventions, in accordance with an agreed care plan, to an identified group of individuals with a neurodevelopmental condition(s) who experience mental health related difficulties under the guidance of a qualified Occupational Therapist.

To provide occupational therapy support to service users who have a range of mental health conditions to enable them to maintain, restore or create a balance between their abilities and the demands of their occupation and environment in the areas of self-care, productivity and leisure.

Working with registered Occupational Therapists, contributing observations to service user assessments and assisting in delivering therapeutic activities designed by others.

To carry a designated caseload which remains the responsibility of the registered Occupational Therapist, often working without direct supervision in a variety of community settings, including the service users own home.

Engaging service users and their carers in therapeutic programmes of care and encourage them in a compassionate manner, to support them in achieving their identified goals and to promote independence and well-being through a client centred approach.

We are looking for someone who has experience, relevant knowledge and a passion to be working with mental health service users and autistic people, contributing to delivery of a package of care to promote recovery.

Applicants need to be able to demonstrate drive and motivation in providing recovery based Occupational Therapy (OT) interventions.
