Description
1. Lead the creation and delivery of an information / business intelligencestrategy.2.

Lead the development of an information team structure to support the delivery of this strategy and put in place the basis of an information team equipped to both drive the information agenda and support the organisation in the delivery of operational requirements3.

Ensure that information is available in consistent and meaningful forms to support service delivery, decision making, planning, business development and reporting.4.

Drive a relentless approach to setting and meeting data definitions andstandards, and improving data quality.5.

Build an information-literate organisation where staff have the skills to create, manage and interpret information that supports them in their day to day business.6.

Ensure that there is a high return on the organisations investment in ICT by maximising the possible outputs of available information systems.7.

Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the service divisions and commissioners.8.


The function will support the whole organisation and will network widely across the entire business and with external partners if it is to be most effective.

The function is as much about creating cultural change as it is about delivering the technical aspects of information management.
