As the Value Creation Lead, reporting to the Head of Value Creation and ZBB, you will play a crucial role in enabling this transformation.

You will be responsible for identifying and developing a pipeline of opportunities to optimise IT costs and where possible, use that knowledge to increase profitability for the WPP Group.

You will work closely with business stakeholders to develop, and material opportunities and strategic initiatives.

You will also drive a culture of cost & value consciousness and continuous improvement across IT within the organisation and embedding sustainable ZBB practices.


What you'll be doing:


  • Identify, develop, and maintain a pipeline of value creation opportunities through proactive engagement with business stakeholders and analysis of industry trends and best practices.
  • Actively seek out and identify opportunities for cost optimisation across all IT spend within WPP (scope: ~$1.2bn)
  • Instilling ZBB practices and driverbased forecasting in IT spend, by driving a culture of costconsciousness and continuous improvement across the IT organisation.
  • Use data and insights to power decision making, by establishing a performance framework based on external benchmarks and operational KPIs, and by developing new metrics and KPIs to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Work within a crossfunctional team to design, evaluate, and implement value creation initiatives that align with the company's overall strategy and financial targets.
  • Actively seek out and identify opportunities for cost optimisation across all areas of the WPP business, while ensuring leadership has full visibility of the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of IT.
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to optimise IT spending and drive profitability, working closely with IT leadership, OpCo CIOs, and other senior leaders within WPP.
  • Understand the business's challenges and help make decisions based on datadriven insights by collating and analysing information from multiple sources to form a logical and coherent story.
  • Deliver measurable value to the business by monitoring and tracking the financial impact of value creation initiatives and reporting progress to senior stakeholders regularly.
  • Collaborate closely with the CIOs aligned with the operating companies to increase visibility into noncore IT costs and make recommendations for optimising spend across WPP through consolidation.

What you'll need:


  • Degree or equivalent (i.e. MBA) desirable but not essential
  • Strong background in effective IT cost management strategies, tools, models, and processes.
  • Expert commercial acumen, with the ability to blend technical, operational, and commercial strategic considerations in their decision making across the IT ecosystem.
  • Excellent communication skills with a history of operating, partnering with, and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to drive engagement in discussion and decisionmaking forums at the executive and senior management team level.
  • Expert analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyse and interpret significant amounts of information accurately.
