The post-holder will work on the Culturally-adapted Family Intervention (CaFI) study under the guidance of the Trial Manager and the Chief Investigator (CI), Professor Dawn Edge.
CaFI is being evaluated via a multi-site Randomised Controlled Trial involving service users of Sub-Saharan African and Caribbean origin diagnosed with schizophrenia spectrum disorders and their families.
In the UK, people of Sub-Saharan African and/or Caribbean origin (including people who identify as Black British, Black African, Black Caribbean, or Mixed heritage) are the more likely to be diagnosed with schizophrenia or psychosis than other ethnic groups.
The post-holder will be involved in related study in two phases to examine the feasibility of implementing CaFI in social care settings in Greater Manchester (GM).
The post-holder will receive line management support from the CaFI Trial Manager which sits within the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Research Unit (EDI-RU) in Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH).
