Main duties of the job:
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Dietitian to join our dynamic CMS (critical care, medical and surgical) team, for a role within hepatology and liver transplant.
Please note this post is 2.5 days (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday)

Education:
Essential criteria:
- Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent
- Health Professions Council (HPC) registration
- Additional qualification or BDA accredited courses or equivalent inhouse training in behaviour change
- Significant experience of working in weight management
- Experience of working in hepatology
Desirable criteria:
- Membership of special interest group for hepatology services.
- Evidence or portfolio of postgraduate continued development
Experience:
Essential criteria:
- Broad range of clinical experience, across a variety of clinical areas
- Experience of managing complex weight management caseload
- Presentation to groups/teaching other Healthcare Professionals
- Student training and/or management of junior staff
- Leadership in an audit or project, and knowledge of clinical standards in the management of obesity
- Proficient use of PC & working knowledge of Microsoft Office and nutritional analysis software
Skills & Aptitudes:
Essential criteria:
- Able to work autonomously and use initiative
- Evidence of specialist clinical knowledge in obesity management
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Effective clinical reasoning skills & ability to reflect on own practice
- Appreciation of need for personal accountability for governance issues (to include confidentiality, Health & safety and risk management) and how these affect self and others
- Effective verbal communication skills with a range of patients and healthcare professionals
- Effective written communication skills
- Ability to treat others with compassion, dignity and respect, taking into account diversity considerations
- Able to manage clinical caseload and prioritise effectively
- Able to support junior staff to manage and prioritise their clinical caseload
- Ability to work effectively within different teams both multi and uni disciplinary, with a willingness to be personally accountable for actions
- To be proactive in service development, liaising closely with the MDT in order to promote clinical excellence
- Ability to manage own time & meet deadlines
- Ability to recognise and challenge unacceptable behaviour. To act on this appropriately using effective interpersonal skills, including assertiveness and negotiation
