Milk Education are working with a primary school in NE61 that supports a diverse community of children and young people aged 4-11.

Praised for their 'total commitment' to achieving equal opportunities for all students, they use a multi-sensory, student led approach to enable every pupil to build self-esteem and take an active role in their communities both in and outside of school.


The school are seeking a Youth Support Worker who can assist students both in and outside of the classroom, supporting in academic work and providing emotional guidance and support.


The ideal Youth Support Worker will be confident doing the following:

  • Supporting children with complex needs.
  • Support with all aspects of personal care.
  • Supporting the safety and wellbeing of the children while on site.
  • Encourage the children to engage in practical play.
  • Have previous history supporting children/adults with sensory or physical difficulties.

Non-negotiables:


  • Must have recent and relevant experience in an education setting
  • Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the classroom teacher
  • Experience working with children/adults with SEND
