Description
NHS Blood and Transplant is an integral part of the NHS. It saves thousands of lives by collecting over 2.5 million donations of blood and blood products every year. It also delivers a range of Tissue Grafts required to save and improve patients lives.

As a Senior Tissue Bank Assistant you will be an integral part of the Tissue Bank team, processing a wide range of tissues, such as skin, tendons and bone into clinical standard grafts following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

Youll join us with extensive experience in laboratories, allowing you to keep records efficiently and accurately, and plan the day-to-day activities and workload of supporting staff.

Your excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, will be crucial as you provide specialised training for other Tissue Bank staff working as part of a small team.

You will be required to participate in routine Saturday/Sunday working, for which you will receive additional payments.

Were looking for someone who is educated to HND equivalent level of science or healthcare work applied through formal training and experience, literate, numerate and able to assume the responsibilities of working in clean room environment.

A willingness to partake in the specialised training that this role requires is essential. Ideally, youll also possess an understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). This is an excellent opportunity to take your skills to the next level.
