An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Trainee Estimator with a successful family run construction business who are one of the market leaders in their specialist field.
Situated by junction 5 off the M3 so must have own vehicle. Full and comprehensive training will be given.The role encompasses the pricing/tendering of potential projects for the company and visiting sites.
Completing meetings which forms part of the service provided by Wetrooms UK and producing Quotes in a professional and timely manner.
The role will also encompass some surveying duties of the live contracts within the business.Main responsibilities
Estimating/Surveying Duties
Preparing tenders
Measuring and marking up drawings that form part of the quotation for the client
Meeting tender return deadlines and recording on spreadsheet time taken to produce
Put together labour prices
Meeting tender return deadlines
Communicate effectively both internally and externally providing updates and relevant information
Attend Weekly Handover meetings
Maintain and build relationships with product manufacturers, discuss potential, new and existing projects
Assist Architects\Clients with design input
Agree with manufacturers prices for materials on special projects
Negotiate prices with customers to win projects
Provide extra/new prices once project is underway/order placed
Follow up on good sized projects you have quoted
Working towards ensuring the company Turnover Target is met
Attend site prior to works starting to ensure areas are ready, issue any site
survey preparation paperwork to the customer (paper/electronic copy)
Attend weekly progress meetings with other employees to discuss projects where required
Attend site to inspect problem jobs, leak investigations and report findings to technical director and arrange resolutions as quickly as possible
Occasional delivery of materials as and when required to specific sites
Measure bespoke grills by following the guidance of the technical director and the current procedure
Other responsibilities
Ensure rapid and accurate communication with other personnel/departments as required
Assist with survey duties during holiday and busy periods
Answer office telephones
Cover for team members in times of absences
