Airfares Consultant homebased or

Hybrid Lancashire Required for this established and expanding Tour Operator based in Lancashire. Due to expansion, they are recruiting for an Airfares Consultant to add to their team.

They are looking for an experienced Airfares /Aviation/Flights or Ticketing Consultant who will support with schedule changes along with ticketing functions including issuing, reissuing and amending tickets using Galileo or Amadeus.

This role offers a salary up to 28k and will be working a variety of shifts mainly within their core hours 9am-6pm but will include up to 7pm at times and 1 weekend per month (5 days per week) this can be homebased ,office or hybrid based in Lancashire


Airfares Consultant duties

  • Manage the queues within the GDS system
  • Issuing all tickets within the time limit set by the airline
  • Managing involuntary flight schedule changes, updating PNR's and overcoming any issues that may have occurred as a result of the change
  • Reissuing tickets both automated or manually
  • Dealing with IT / BT net tickets and published fares
  • Cancelling and refunding tickets and updating files to ensure everything is correct
  • Issuing EMD's for all manner of extras
  • Contacting airlines to help solve problems and /or help with issues
  • Support the sales team with help on itineraries, pricing and obtaining the best fares

Airfares Consultant skills required

  • Knowledge of GDS system(s), preferably Galileo (and/or Amadeus) including fares, revalidations, reissues and refunds
  • Demonstrable competence and previous experience within a Flights/Aviation/Ticketing Executive role or similar
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Accustomed to working to deadlines and in a fastpaced business environment.
  • Good problemsolving ability and commercially astute.
  • Provide weekly BSP reports and answer queries that may arise
  • Refiling/rebooking of flights in order to obtain the best price
