Location :

Glasgow (Occasional travel may be required) We operate a hybrid working model and expect employees to work from the office, at least 3 days per week.

Hours of work: 9:30am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday (Occasional out of hours work as required to meet project demands)

Introduction:
Pinsent Masons Vario provides a range of professional services to our clients. These include flexible legal provision, , legal project management, legal technology consultancy and managed legal services.


Our Paralegal Centre of Excellence, brings together a range of paralegal skills and capabilities and provides a variety of services to our lawyers and clients.


Purpose of Role:


You will be working as part of a team in the Paralegal Centre of Excellence, supporting our lawyers with a variety of technical, administrative and client relationship tasks.


The paralegals' work will include drafting and preparation of documents, the management of documents and the management of client reporting systems.

This is a highly varied job requiring a flexible attitude.

Matter Related Work

Undertaking client/matter work commensurate to Paralegal level within relevant legal workstream including tasks such as:
Day-to-day support to the lawyer team ensuring that they are kept up to date with their transactions.
Undertaking activities in support of investigations/litigation/pre-litigation.
Document review, including disclosure exercises and preparing due diligence reports.
Proof reading.
Dealing with bulk correspondence/documents.
Data room management/assistance including uploading documents, redactions, project management and admin.
Sorting and indexing of client files and legal documents, including filing of correspondence and evidence.

Management of documents including sorting and organising papers, first reviews, preparation of trial bundles, drafting indexes and undertaking Subject Access Requests.

Preparing drafts of documents.
Preparation of reports for clients.

Other/Miscellaneous

General administration tasks and assisting fee earners with other ad-hoc duties.
Conducting general legal research and writing up advice notes.
Inputting of data onto systems.
Filing of papers with Courts/Tribunal and relevant other parties and organisations.
Attending hearings and meetings to take notes and provide general assistance.
Undertaking project work (including occasional travel to client sites to assist in large volume tasks).
Other ad-hoc duties and tasks as dictated by the business and client needs.
Managing and updating case management systems.
Assisting in preparation of client training materials.
Creating client knowledge/management files.
Assisting with the preparation of precedents/precedents express.

Person Specification


Qualifications:
Educated to degree level or equivalent in any discipline.


Relevant experience:
Customer service and/or administrative experience is essential.
Previous Paralegal or Legal Executive experience is beneficial but not essential.
Experience of working in a fast-paced professional services environment is desirable.

Strong written and spoken communication skills with all levels of staff.
Project management and prioritisation skills.
Excellent organisational skills with acute attention to detail.
Ability to achieve deadlines.

IT literate with a good knowledge and high degree of competency in the use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
