Job Description:
We are looking for a lively, enthusiastic person to join our Norwich brand as a Sales Assistant.

Experience in the Roofing Industry is preffered but not essential, as full training will be provided.


They should be highly pro-active, with the ability to develop their own customer base in Norwich and the surrounding areas.

They will be the first point of contact for customers visiting the trade counter and so must have a focus on customer service.

They will be a team player but also have the initiative to work on their own. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills as they will have contact with customers daily. With attention to detail being essential due to the nature of the business.


The position will be predominatly trade counter sales, however you will also have general admin duties; these duties include inputting orders and chasing quotes, corresponding with the yar on deliveries and liasing with accounts and developing your own customer base.

The job will include the following tasks;

  • Answer and deal with any sales telephone enquiries efficiently.
  • Deal with any walk in customers in the appropriate manner.
  • Process any sales order's as received, allocating correct stock items.
  • Order any nonstock items required for orders whilst consulting with colleagues.
  • Ensure orders are booked for delivery on the correct date where specified.
  • Chase up all quotations within the relevant time scale to ensure optimum success.
  • Responsible for providing general administration support to the branch manager.
  • Process all delivery notes and sales orders for invoicing on a daily basis.
  • Assist in filing all sales records
  • Coordinate and prepare any samples or information / brochures required by customers.
In addition to the above, you may be required to provide cover / assist in the yard from time to time, duties will include but are not limited too;

  • Ensure safe and effective day to day running of FLT and ensure company regulations are adhered to.
  • Ensure the yard is kept tidy at all times and up to health and safety standards.
  • Ensure all customers are dealt with quickly and effectively in accordance with the AJW Distribution Group Platform.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed as required by the AJW Distribution Group Procedures.
  • Record and report any breakages to your branch manager as and when they occur.
  • Monitor stock and report any low levels to your branch manager.
  • Ensure all people entering the yard are accompanied by and AJW employee and wearing the required PPE.
  • Ensure all forklifts are used by trained personnel only and in the correct manor

Salary:
£18,000.00-£24,000.00 per year

Supplemental pay types:

  • Norwich, NR3 2DH: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:


  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

- sales: 1 year (preferred)

- customer service: 1 year (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

  • Forklift licence (preferred)
