THE ROLE
This is a new role which will support the corporate communications function across both traditional and digital corporate channels.
Corporate communications
Supporting the Corporate Communications Manager in planning, implementing and evaluating communications initiatives that create positive awareness of British Land's corporate purpose, strategy, operations and social responsibility.
Digital communications
Supporting the Digital Corporate Communications Manager in communicating corporate strategic messages through the corporate digital channels.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Work collaboratively with the rest of the Communications team (Head of Communications, Corporate Communications Manager, Digital Communications Manager and Team Assistant) to ensure that messaging is aligned and optimised across both digital and traditional channels
- Work with team to develop ideas and create communications materials to support business objectives. Ensure collateral is shared and repurposed for maximum effect across multiple communication channels
- Establish strong working relationships with key internal and external clients to gather news and recommend the most appropriate responses/actions
- Create high quality written content and effectively edit and manage internal and external draft materials to minimise required input by Head of Communications, Corporate Communications Manager and Digital Communications Manager
- Manage activity and keep track of work streams for the team to ensure everything is delivered in the correct timescales; ensure communications plans are kept up to date
Corporate communications
- Support the team to plan and implement PR activity in support of specific business initiatives, ensuring corporate reputation is maintained
- Review work delivered by external PR agencies and ensure it is delivered to the schedule and quality required
- Ensure information is shared effectively internally and between external resources to deliver the most efficient and impactful PR support
- Field any media enquiries or speaking opportunities to ensure the team are responding to these in a timely and efficient way
- Build and maintain relationships with sector and business journalists, to gain a clear understanding of their priorities and identify opportunities
Digital communications
- Conduct daily social media monitoring to ensure we have a clear understanding of the external perception of the business
- Support with day to day management of corporate social media channels, including drafting material and working with our agencies to upload content
- Identify and develop creative options for corporate communications which further tell our corporate strategy in an engaging manner
- Work with our agencies to manage calendar of digital activity across our key digital channels of website, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram
- Work with internal stakeholders and the Digital Communications Manager to ensure the corporate website is kept up to date in terms of functionality and content
ABOUT YOU
A self-starting, emotionally intelligent person with a positive, pragmatic outlook, good judgement and a clear focus on results. Comfortable dealing with senior company executives and able to communicate clearly with people of all levels. Confident to make decisions, take responsibility and operate as team player.
