Catering - General Assistants to join the team across
Bournemouth and Poole on a
part time/full-time, permanent basis.

In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £21,409 per annum (pro rata if part time).

About the role:


As the
Catering - General Assistant, you will Provide Catering Support in the Cafeteria including preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages, plus related catering duties.


Responsibilities as our Catering - General Assistant will include:

  • Prepare the dining and service area ready for service.
  • Assist in the preparation, cooking, serving of food and beverages as instructed.
  • Cashier and cash handling duties.
  • Receiving, checking and storage of stock deliveries
  • Taking inventory of ingredients and catering supplies and ordering new stock as required
  • Stocking of all displays including stock rotation and monitoring
  • Preparation, cooking and transportation of hospitality as required
  • Record and monitor fridge / freezer temperatures including hot food temperatures on the counter
  • Clean catering areas to regulated standards as directed.
  • Cleanliness and replenishing of vending machines
  • The above sets out the area of work in which duties will generally be focused, and gives an example of the type of duties that the postholder could be asked to carry out. Postholders are expected to be flexible and to operate in different areas of work/carry out different duties on different sites as required, within the scope and grading of the post.

As our Catering - General Assistant you'll
ideally have:

  • Reasonable level of education, including basic English and Math's
  • Food hygiene certificate or NVQ L
  • Experience in Food preparation & cooking (domestic or commercial)
  • Wear uniform provided, ensuring it is clean and tidy and observe good hygiene standards at all times
  • Commitment to attendance at work to term time.
  • Flexible working approach to duties and working hours/pattern e.g. cover occasional evening or Saturday for events like Open Days/Hospitality or cover for colleagues as required
