Apprentice Teaching Assistant at Eythorne Elvington Community Primary School


Apprentice Teaching Assistant needed to work alongside other TA's under the guidance of a class teacher with the shared aim of ensuring children maximise their learning potential.


Annual wage
£9,984.00


Please note that this is a term time only position so you will be paid a pro-rata amount of the annual salary listed, including an annual leave allowance.


Working week:
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:10pm, term time only, 38 weeks per yearTotal hours per week: 30


What you will do in your working day
We are looking to appoint an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join our strong support staff team.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher in supporting them to ensure all pupils get the best learning experience possible.

Your role will be to work with small groups of pupils to explain key teaching points and guide them in achieving the outcome of the lesson.


Other aspects of the role will include:

  • Working 1:1 with identified pupils
  • Preparation of resources for lessons
  • Supporting children with social skills
  • Daily listening to children reading
  • Supporting pupils when outside during break and lunch
  • Emotional and wellbeing support to pupils when needed

The training you will be getting

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard qualification
  • English and maths Functional Skills at level 2 if required
  • Preparation for End Point Assessment
  • Work based and tutor supported online training

Things to considerThis apprenticeship is listed as starting in September to allow those with GCSE results pending to apply. If you already have your maths and English GCSE's, or equivalent, then if successful and you are available, you may be able to start the apprenticeship ahead of that date.
