Description
We have a brand new opportunity for a Director of Product/ VP Product / Group Product Manager to lead a team of 20 at one of the UK's largest online customer-centric goods and services marketplaces.
Although they're a very established brand, this role involves taking them into a new exciting phase of growth, into new product areas and by leading the build of a new tech stack to vastly improve their ability to delight mobile-first customers.
This is a remote/hybrid role based in West London 2 days per week.The Director of Product / VP Product / Group Product Manager will:
- Define and evangelise the product vision, strategy and strategic roadmap, driving alignment across stakeholder groups
- Create formal processes with key decision makers across the company to help share, prioritise and manage their needs as stakeholders
- Create Product experiences that customers love, driving the customer experience across several touchpoints
- Define technical Product execution, build roadmaps and highlight resource needs that support areas where improvement is needed
- Capitalise on unmet opportunities that align with the team's long-term vision
- Employ a speed wins attitude: adapt and accelerate creative solutions that demonstrate value quickly in a fast-paced work environment
- Embed industry best practices in product management, from an end to end product development lifecycle, to an effective approach to discovery
- Deliver strategic commercial value by delivering innovative digital solutions
- Manage budgets and return on investment, constantly balancing short term return against long term strategic value
- Team leadership of Product org, including product management, UX design and research, and Product Analytics
- Form deep partnerships with technology teams to establish ways of working that create high quality customer outcomes
- Hire, mentor and develop Product talent
- Establish principles and implement best practices to create Products that customers love at scale via modern and agile practices
- Accountable for key strategic partnerships and external relationships, including point of contact for major external partners, representing at speaking events, etc
- Product leadership experience in a mass consumer transactional environment, such as marketplaces, retail, travel, holidays, price comparison, media, entertainment, etc.
- Some experience in a scaleup or startup environment would be an advantage.
- Existing Product experience working with a C-Level or Director-level role
- A data-driven individual with outstanding leadership skills and clarity of vision
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to frame problems, collect data, perform analysis, arrive at valid conclusions and present data and insights to influence others
- Capable of operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, across multiple teams and balancing multiple priorities
- Experience with Agile methodologies and different measures of product discovery, including quantitative (e.g. A/B-testing) and qualitative (e.g. usability testing) methods
- Senior stakeholder management experience
- Good business judgement with a strong customer focus
- Be willing and able to be hands on when needed
- Open and honest communication style
- Natural consensus-builder and collaborative decision-making style across partners, commercial, design and engineering teams
- Experience in digital media, technology, eCommerce or marketplaces preferred
- Strong sense of fun, operating with humour and a positive demeanour to enthuse and engage people
