We are looking for an enthusiastic new team member to join our Macmillan Information Centre Team department at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
We are looking for a person who has a passion for providing high quality patient focused care for our cancer patients, carers and families' who have a flexible attitude towards work and a desire for new challenges.
You will gain valuable experience working across the Trust and out in the community, as part of the Macmillan team.
You will be required to signpost to services both internal and external and develop a good working relationship with clinical and non-clinical teams.
You will develop an in-depth knowledge of Cancer Services and the complex needs of patients and carers who need your support.
You will receive direct support from the centre manager to develop and enhance your skills. Enabling you to be there for people at what can be the most challenging time.
You will be warmly welcomed and well supported by a supportive team who are passionate and aspire to provide excellent care.

- Support patients and carers in providing patient information and guidance in relation to cancer.
- Triage individuals to ascertain needs and providing verbal, written and emotional support.
- Signpost to relevant services both internal and external
- Update Centre social media accounts
- Attend trust meetings as part of patient care
- Contribute to the management of risk and maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Communicate all relevant information to the team internally and with external organisations as required, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all activities, in a timely manner, adhering to local and professional standards for documentation.
