SEN Teaching Assistant to start either
ASAP or April


Working Hours:
Mon - Fri (8:30am - 4:00pm)


Pay Rate:
£80 - £100/day


Complete Classroom Services is working with a dynamic and inclusive group of schools, who are committed to providing high-quality education and support to students with Special Educational Needs. We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our client schools and make a positive and lasting impact on the lives of their students.


As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance and guidance to students with SEN in both primary and secondary school settings.


Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with a wide range of Special Educational Needs, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, and Speech and Language difficulties.
  • Assisting students in accessing the curriculum and completing tasks, adapting learning materials and resources as necessary to meet individual needs.
  • Providing onetoone or small group support to students during lessons, ensuring they remain engaged and making progress.
  • Implementing strategies outlined in Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans, and monitoring student progress accordingly.
  • Building positive relationships with students, promoting independence, selfconfidence, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to create inclusive learning environments and promote a culture of respect, understanding, and acceptance.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and behaviours, and reporting findings to relevant stakeholders as required.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within a SEN environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of a wide range of Special Educational Needs and relevant support strategies.
  • Comfortable working with students across both primary and secondary age groups.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school environment.
  • Ideally, experience or willingness to provide personal care to students, although this is not a mandatory requirement.
