Interim Head of Finance


Based in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, our client is looking for a qualified accountant to join their team as Interim Head of Finance on a temporary basis for 2-3 months.


This job would suit an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant to work alongside the current incumbent to help them through a busy period.

The role will take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function including management accounts, team management andproviding support for business planning and commercial partnering with the Sales and Marketing team.

The company continues to go from strength to strength and with year-end and a capital investment programme happening at thesame time, an extra pair of hands is needed to help with key finance deliverables.


The successful individual will be an ACCA / CIMA / ACA qualified accountant with a strong track record of leading a finance team whilst having a strong all round finance background.

This individual should have strong financial accounting experience to helpthe Financial Controller compete the year end statutory accounts whilst also having good commercial finance and business partnering skills to work with the sales and marketing team on pricing and margins etc.

Coaching and developing the current small financeteam will also be required during standard month end reporting processes.


Duties will include:

  • Assist with the production of monthly management information packs and reports for business heads and directors.
  • Responsible for preparing and filing all statutory returns including the annual Statutory Accounts, VAT returns, CS01, Corporation Tax, Insurance questionnaires, Office for National Statistics returns and employee documents such as P35, P60's, P45's etc.
  • Working closely with Sales and Marketing teams to assess, understand and improve areas of finance responsibility pricing, margins, future propositions etc.
  • Development of efficient transaction processes; maintenance of accounting books & records in accordance with accounting standards
  • Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet as part of Board Report, including fully reconciled balance sheet accounts every month and preparation of forecast and budget Balance Sheets as and when necessary


This is an interesting opportunity for an immediately available individual to take on an interesting short-term position that will offer a range of varied duties.
