The Faculty of Arts and Humanities is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and proactive Stores person who supports the Technical Manager in Arts, Design and Architecture within a new workshop as part of the multimillion pound investment in the New Engineering Design Facility set within the newly re-modelled Babbage Building.

This is part of a new innovative practices development within research, education, and a new area of excellence in design thinking and manufacturing practice.

You will work as stores person in a team alongside other members of staff working across different grades.

A range of programmes are delivered across campus as well as in some of our partner institutions, so you will have proximity to a wide variety of skill sets.


All members of the team are required to provide a flexible, responsive and professional service to support the needs of the business.


Under the guidance of the Technical Manager you will be responsible for managing the stores, supply, ordering delivery and continuous maintenance of equipment and materials in the service of the Woodwork shop and allied programmes.

The wood workshop is contained in the Babbage Building, the New Engineering and Design Facility; there will be opportunities to support business and other skills areas from time to time, so experience in this and other mediums would be an advantage, but this post will be predominantly wood.

You will have experience of stores and preferably within a HE organisation.

You will be self-motivated and an active member of the team, helping the School Technical Manager with the development of the technical services we provide to Students and staff.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours a week, term-time only on a permanent basis.
