We are on a mission to be the partner of choice for developing people and their communities.

Reed in Partnership is a public service provider specialising in skills training for the long-term unemployed, increasing employment opportunities by working with employers and providing youth services.

Better Working Futures is Reed in Partnership's name for the Work and Health Programme. The service gives people who face additional barriers to finding work the best support available.

It is part of a wider package of support for jobseekers and people with disabilities and health conditions announced by the government and aims to bring jobseekers, support provision and employers together to provide greater opportunities for those looking for work.

Permanent opportunity to cover across multiple sites in the NE. Must be prepared to travel to different offices as and when the business needs.


What the job is about:


The main purpose of an Employment and Skills Trainer is to improve the opportunities of adult jobseekers by coaching, training and upskilling them to achieve their career goals.


Your day-to-day responsibilities would include:


  • Preparing and delivering training
  • Assessing and evaluating results and providing performance feedback
  • Maintaining a professional training environment classroom management
  • Promoting courses to internal and external stakeholders

Required skills and experience

  • Ability to work to strict targets and with people from various backgrounds
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Experience of working in the welfaretowork or any other similar relevant sector
  • Background in preparing / delivering training courses
  • A minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 Diploma in combination with GCSE English Language Grade B or above (or equivalent Level 2 qualification). _
    If you do not possess this level of qualification you will be required to achieve a Level 2 in a Literacy Assessment conducted at interview stage._

Desirable Qualifications

  • Ability to empathise with our members and motivate them
  • Recognised Teaching qualification such as PTTLS or PGCE if you do not have this, you will be required to complete the qualification within your first 6 months which Reed in Partnership will fund.
  • Passion for delivering excellent job and making longterm positive changes for our members
  • Resilience, creativity and adaptability
  • Willingness to travel locally (e.g. to deliver training/courses/meet Learners/Employers)
