Description
The Trust is working to live within its means and become both financially and clinically sustainable.

To help it achieve this, the Trust is establishing a Delivery Unit which will be responsible for co-ordinating the Trust's savings, productivity, and waste management projects, as well as supporting other key transformation programmes and strategic aims and objectives.

The Head of Delivery Unit will play a key role in delivering the Trust's transformation, efficiency, and waste reduction agenda.

Their main function will be to oversee and run the Trust's Delivery Unit, ensuring that it provides comprehensive and well governed support and assurance across all the Trust's major programmes.


Working closely with the leadership teams of the clinical divisions, corporate services, and the Executive team the postholder will play a crucial role in developing the maturity and visibility of the progress of programmes underpinning the Trust's strategy.


Within the directorate, working closely with the Chief Finance Officer and Director of Strategic Implementation and Partnerships, they will collaboratively pull together major programmes and manage them under a single umbrella and governance structure.

They will ensure programmes are aligned and duplication is avoided, build and follow a programme approach underpinned by clear PMO principles, understand and manage interdependencies along with identifying and deriving the optimum benefits from our improvement programmes.


A key area of focus will be developing and supporting the Trust's financial efficiencies and waste reduction programme and ensuring the schemes that form the Trust's savings programmes follow process.

The Trust is committed to developing a truly integrated programme approach where financial objectives do not sit in isolation from quality objectives.


The post holder is also responsible for the development of the strategic direction of a Programme Management approach to ensure the success of individual projects and the Trust's portfolio of projects in the long term and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Delivery Unit.

The post holder will also support a portfolio of projects.
