Description

Do you want to be part of an innovative and exciting project that will make a difference to businesses and communities throughout Sheffield? If so, then this could be the role for you
I am currently recruiting for an Application Development Worker to help deliver the Economic Recovery Fund throughout the city.

The Economic recovery Fund was launched in March 2021 and is a flagship project of the City's Business Recovery Plan.

It is aimed to help businesses and district centres come through the pandemic.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Setting up open meetings that can be attended by local businesses, community groups and others who are interested in helping to develop ideas
  • Creating a plan and timescale for developing a project and help guide and drive this forward within a tight timescale
  • Facilitating meetings creatively to ensure there is clarity on the problems that each area wishes to solve
  • Ensure a wide variety of ideas and opinions can be heard
  • Help businesses to reach a consensus
  • Helping to research project ideas and costs
  • Providing advice and guidance to the project team and push, where needed, for their engagement and input
  • Working in collaboration with the Business Information Officer and Local Area Committee Team members, as well as the ERF Project Team, who need to be invited to sit around the table and be kept up to date on how projects are developing.

If you think you can make a difference, even if you can't tick off everything on the below list, we want to hear from you.

We are hoping to find someone:

  • With experience of project management or bid writing, including designing project plans and timelines.
  • Experience of budget development and management.
  • With an understanding or experience of working with small, local businesses and/or community groups.
  • Who is flexible, happy to roll their sleeves up and help out with all manner of tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Who is a problem solver and solution focused there are often complex issues underneath actions that initially look simple.
  • Who is able to prioritise effectively and know instinctively which tasks to focus on and which to save for later.
  • Who is an effective, open and constructive communicator.

You will need to build trusted relationships quickly and maintain communications with stakeholders in the project team you are working with and beyond.

  • Knowledge of or experience of working in local government or third sector environment would be an advantage but not essential.

The rate for this role is open to negotiation based on the skills and experience someone brings to the opportunity.
