The Business Management Team equip the Directorate with the knowledge, resources, tools and skills they need within their role to deliver key core business management functions.

We provide a central service and work collaboratively with all staff in all teams that make up the Digital and Information Directorate (DID).

We're responsible for:

  • Managing our recruitment processes and ensuring we have the right resources in the right place to achieve our business objectives
  • Ensuring we have good financial controls in place and are able to forecast expenditure to manage our business
  • Creating and implementing good people strategies that provide effective wellbeing, engagement, learning & development & talent management opportunities
  • Developing and implementing business planning processes
  • Coordinating all risk and assurance activity
  • Providing executive support to the Directorate's Senior Leadership Team through the management of work priorities and high quality communications
  • Managing all mandated departmental returns.

The Business Management Team will spend a fair proportion of their time analysing data, observing trends and developing relationships in order to forward plan the cycle of activities it undertakes throughout the business year that enable the Directorate to operate at its optimum level.

Through these evaluation processes, the Senior Leadership Team are able to make timely decisions on issues that are likely to have an impact on how we plan and co-ordinate our work.

While line managers are responsible for the day-to-day management of their staff, the Business Management Team will have oversight of how HR policies are understood and complied with, ensuring they are applied in a fair and consistent manner across all teams.

We consider ourselves to be a supportive, empathetic team on a mission to create the best working environment for everyone in our Directorate and not just our own team.

We know we can really add value by sharing best practice, providing accurate and key information, and consistently seeking out ways to do things better.
