Health & Wellbeing Practitioner Pay Rate:£28 - £30 per hour (assignment rate)

Duties:
- Deliver client centred treatment using both harm reduction and abstinence based treatment approaches depending on the requirements of the individual client
- Working within an integrated healthcare framework to provide support to prisoners with substance misuse, lowlevel mental health and overall health and wellbeing issues
- Be responsible for managing a caseload, providing appropriate harm reduction advice and guidance, assessments, and care plans; you will deliver structured 1:1 and group
- Contributing to the targets set, additionally the role requires you to make case note entries and record information accurately
- Write progress reports for clients aimed at a specific audience, good quality written work will be expected in this role
Requirements of the Health & Wellbeing Practitioner:
- Psychologists must be registered and accredited members of the BACP. (Registered Member MBACP (Accred) or Registered Member MBACP (Snr Accred).)
- Psychologist with HCPC registration
- Proactively approach integrated ways of working and support and adopt a multidisciplinary approach
- Excellent experience of substance misuse and/or mental health work in a related field
- Demonstrable experience of carrying out risk assessments, comprehensive assessments and the design and implementation of SMART care plans
- Significant experience of carrying out psychosocial interventions including using motivational interviewing techniques in both 1:1 and therapeutic group settings
- Knowledge of the criminal justice sector
- Knowledge of the Recovery Agenda
- A thorough knowledge of and commitment to the 12step process of recovery from addiction
- Experience of providing counselling / CBT services to prisoners, or those with Health and Wellbeing, or drug and / or alcohol problems
- Personal experience of addiction/imprisonment (Addicts in recovery should have at least 3 years clean time)
- Exprisoners, should have been released at least 5 years ago
