Job Purpose

  • To support the Assistant Cash Manager deliver a firstclass service in handling all client payments received into the business, ensuring they are processed quickly and accurately on first touch.
  • Working with others in the Cash Management team to ensure priority work is handled accurately and timely on a daytoday basis.
  • Help deliver specific projects on time and challenge the BAU processes to ensure maximum efficiency and automation of the cash management processes.

Job Role and Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Credit Management team to ensure any payment received without remittance details is allocated with minimum delays.
  • Resolve as much new unapplied cash as possible by confirming which client made the payment. Prevent repetition where possible.
  • Work through the backlog of unapplied cash and help to develop further automated processes to minimise repetition, including segmentation and specific treatments by reason code.
  • Support a new project to consider automation of current manual processes to deal with the high percentage of standard payments and identify opportunities to improve the processing of nonstandard payments.
  • Process all daily online card payments.
  • Contribute to all process improvement projects and initiatives relating to cash management.
  • Any adhoc cash management duties required.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven successful track record in a similar role for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Excellent numerical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Educated to GSCE standard or equivalent, holding a minimum of 5 passes at Grade C or above, to include Maths and English Language.
  • Experience of working with automated cash management systems desirable.
  • Ability to identify issues and escalate as required.
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and team working skills able to work as a team and change BAU priorities dependent upon requirement.
  • Good time management skills and experience of working to tight deadlines
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements of the role & the business, during various key times of the month and financial year.
