THE ROLE
As an Engineering Policy Manager, you will be responsible for setting and monitoring technical policies and standards across SGN's gas distribution business

This role includes:

ensuring technical policies, procedures and specifications remain fit for purpose;reviewing and implementing best practice and suggestions for business improvement; approval of new products for use on the gas network; coordination of field trials, and; participating in and influencing relevant industry forums.

Key responsibilities include;

Using engineering judgement to assess technical options
Creating and updating specifications and procedures
Understanding the impact of policy change on different roles and departments
Creating effective communication and implementation plans for policy changes
Ensuring human factors and other appropriate risk impacts are considered
Looking to the future to ensure our policies support SGNs strategic goals

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Asset or operational management knowledge and experience of Gas Transmission & Plant
You will need good written and verbal communication skills
You will need to be able to interpret technical requirements and communicate them so they can be understood and implemented by others.
You will be an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer, or willing to work towards this.
Able to carry out impact and risk assessments.
