Description
As a member of our team, you will be managing front line staff in supporting people who access the service for help with their drug or alcohol use.
This exciting role will also continue to allow us to improve the work we have already developed around supporting clients within the Criminal Justice System.
The role will include supporting staff who cover the courts, prisons and custody suites on a regular basis; working with people awarded a community sentence where mental health, drugs and/or alcohol have been identified; work closely and collaborate with partner agencies to manage these orders; work directly with individuals released from prison and support multi agency plans around them.
We are looking for people who have previously managed a team with individuals in relation to substance misuse or who have equivalent experience working in health, criminal justice or social care settings.
You will have excellent communication and report writing skills, be able to collaboratively work as part of a team and to independently manage supervision processes.
You may have an awareness of working in a trauma informed way (while this is desirable, training will be provided).
Most of all you will demonstrate the enthusiasm to motivate our staff and service users to make the changes they want and need to change their lives for the better.

Essential Skills:
To carry out this role effectively, you will:
- have attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent or be committed to complete this within 18-months
- have a successful track record of managing and developing a team of people
- understand the issues faced by those experiencing substance misuse or mental health issues
- know and understand how to minimise harm to our clients during their treatment for substance misuse or mental health issues
- understand health and safety in a health care setting and how to assess and manage high risk situations with clients
- be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and external contacts alike
- be resilient and able to manage your work alongside conflicting priorities in a very busy environment
- be driven to achieve results and able to analyse data
- have good written and oral communication skills
- be confident in your IT skills and digital media
- Be able to work effectively as a team member, demonstrating a collaborative and supportive manner
Desired Skills:
Priority will be given to applicants who also have experience of:
- working with substance misuse
Experience of managing budgets would also be an advantage but not essential.
