Trust Care Management is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Laundry Assistant to join our team at Trust Care Management as a Laundry Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all laundry services within the care home are carried out efficiently and safely.

You will be responsible for sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing laundry to various departments and residents, while adhering to high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.


Responsibilities:


  • Sort laundry into different categories, such as resident clothing, bed linens, and towels.
  • Operate commercial washing and drying machines, ensuring proper settings and detergent amounts for each load.
  • Neatly fold or hang all laundered items and store them in their designated areas.
  • Deliver clean laundry to residents' rooms or other specified areas within the care home.
  • Inspect laundered items to ensure cleanliness and readiness for use, removing any damaged items.
  • Maintain accurate records of laundry activities, including the amount of laundry processed and any issues encountered.
  • Perform basic maintenance on laundry equipment and notify management of any malfunctions.
  • Adhere to care home protocols for infection control, including the safe handling and disposal of contaminated laundry.
  • Keep track of laundry supplies and inform management when restocking is needed.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of laundry operations and address any immediate needs or concerns.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Good organizational skills for sorting and folding laundry.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Basic understanding of laundry machinery operation.
  • Prior experience in a laundry service, preferably within a healthcare setting, is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry laundry bags
  • Compassionate and understanding towards residents.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Willingness to adhere to hygiene and cleanliness standards.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferable.
  • Knowledge of proper handling of various types of fabrics and laundry chemicals.
  • Infection control training is a plus.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Teamoriented mindset.
  • A high level of integrity and trustworthiness.
