Edinburgh Zoo is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Officer to join their team.
As the Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Zoo's health and safety policies and procedures.
This includes conducting risk assessments, providing training and guidance to staff and volunteers, and responding to incidents and emergencies.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of their animals, visitors, and staff.
You will work closely with a brilliant team of experts to ensure that the facilities are safe and compliant with all relevant regulations.
To be considered for this role you should have a degree in a related field and at least 3-5 years of experience in health and safety.

Essential Knowledge:
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline (or with practical experience) with demonstratable experience in supporting a health and safety function
- Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health, or equivalent qualification e.g., NEBOSH
Essential Skills:
- Up
- to
- date practical knowledge and understanding of health and safety management systems
- Strong working knowledge of health and safety and related law and best practice
- Knowledge and experience in the implementation of health and safety management and training packages
- Experience in undertaking and managing health and safety audits and inspections
- Ability to build, maintain and influence a network of internal and external contacts to achieve progress on objectives and shared interests
Essential Experience:
- Experience in developing and delivering core health and safety training courses such as Manual Handling, Risk Assessments, Fire Safety, and Managing Safely.
