Seafront KidZone Assistant


If you are passionate about the local environment and the community benefits it provides, then an exciting opportunity exists for you with BCP Council Seafront Operations.

We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced people to join our Seafront Team.


As a KidZone Assistant you will need to be able to work as part of a team and independently as required using your own initiative.

You will work proactively with all members of the public and the wider team, including external agencies such as the RNLI.

Enthusiasm and commitment to providing a safe, clean and inclusive seafront is essential.

To support this the position involves engaging with the public to highlight our missing persons scheme and coordinate searches to reunite missing persons with their families and friends.


As no two days are the same, the dynamic nature of the role means a flexible approach is crucial to ensure the appropriate level of support is given to all aspects of Seafront Operations.


Working for Seafront Operations, you will assist in maintaining BCP's beaches and associated infrastructure to the standards required to attain the international Blue Flag and national Seaside Awards administered by Keep Britain Tidy.

In addition, you'll be expected to support and promote the Council's Leave Only Footprints initiative.

A disposition to promote high standards of customer care and communication skills is essential for this post.

You will be an integral member of the Seafront Operations Team ensuring Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole is a great place to live, work and visit.


Successful applicants will work in shifts covering up to 5 days in 7, including some Bank Holidays and weekends on an approximate 37 hours per week basis.
Applicants must be available for work between the 10th
of July and the 3rd
of September, in accordance with the operational dates of the scheme. The applicant will also be expected to work outdoors for the majority of each shift in order to carry out their duties.
