Introduction:

Our client is a leading Project Management Consultancy who delivers services across the whole lifecycle to high profile clients in the Defence, Government and Aerospace sectors, and have an excellent opportunity for a Planning Consultant to join their team.

In your role you will be working with their clients and suppliers to achieve maximum benefits from digital transformation and innovative operations, and you therefore must be an excellent communicator.

Working Pattern:
Hybrid - 2-3 days per week on site. Part-time opportunities available.**
Key responsibilities:

Create, review, maintain and administer Portfolio/ Programme/Project schedules.
You will provide consultancy advice on best practice.
Facilitate planning workshops and provide training and coaching where appropriate.
Building, analysing, and maintaining schedules on behalf of the schedule owner.
Provide quality assurance across the delivery environment in line with the chosen methodology.
Identify and maintain dependencies across the delivery environment.
Use an understanding of the aspects of both 'traditional' and Agile projects.

Skills & experience:

Consultancy experience ideal, excellent stakeholder engagement experience essential.
A background in Defence, Government, Public Sector, Aerospace or National Security.
A solid understanding of one or more project and programme management methodologies.
Practical and formal experience of both waterfall and Agile planning principles and methods.
Primavera and / or Microsoft Project to an advanced level.
An analytical thinker with creative and innovative problemsolving skills.
Good Demonstrable report writing and presentation skills.
Ability to deliver effective training and coaching sessions to aid adoption and maturity of planning practices.
