About BigSis

Location:
Coxheath, near Maidstone, Kent


Salary:
£21, ,000 per year + holiday + pension, fixed-term contract for 6 months

Full time (37.5 hours per week), Mon-Fri, 8am start, May until October.

You will visit the farm sites at least once a week to collect fruit samples and swap traps. You will be responsible for processing fruit samples and assessing the traps in our lab near Coxheath, Kent.


Responsibilities will include:


  • Travelling to farm sites to collect fruit samples and exchange traps weekly
  • Processing and analysing fruit and trap samples
  • Inputting data onto specific spreadsheets
  • Keeping all areas clean and tidy
  • Other laboratory and administrative tasks as required

Qualifications and experience

  • Since full training is provided, no experience is required, but a background in entomology and/or previous work on field trials would be advantageous
  • You must be able to follow processes accurately while observing all safety and hygiene rules
  • This job involves working with live insects
