Working as a member of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Specialist Team the post holder will provide a combination of self-directed work providing organisational support and administration duties in the delivery of services for patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease, making a direct and positive contribution to the work of the team.

The post holder must exercise initiative and judgement when dealing with patient enquires, requests, referrals and results, and be able to prioritise importance accordingly.

Main duties of the job


Reviewing blood results under supervision of the IBD Team who will respond to patients with changes to drug levels and dosages.

Working together with the IBD Nurse Specialists responding to patients questions and queries.

Offering support and information to IBD patients

Signposting IBD patients to services

You will be joining a hard working nursing team at the Nottingham Treatment Centre whose total focus is the IBD diagnosed outpatient and maintaining remission.


This small team are dedicated to the care and support of this specific set of patients with varying degrees of symptoms caused by Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

Training and Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • 5 GCSE or equivalent C or above must include English Computer Literate
  • Ability to use Microsoft office programmes
  • Excellent Communication and Liaison Skills
  • Previous Patient and Customer Service Experience
Desirable criteria

  • Experience of medical terminology
- knowledge of inflammatory bowel disease.

  • An understanding of the outpatient system including referral, booking and outcoming
Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience of providing high standards of service in a customer/patient orientated environment.
  • Efficient organisation of meetings and other appointments including MDT
  • Accurate and realtime diary keeping
  • Experience using NHS systems; PAS/ Notis Winscribe, medway

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
