SEMH Teaching Assistant
A specialist school, based in Nursling, Southampton is currently looking for Teaching Assistants to support students on a one-to-one (1:1) and small group basis alongside other Teaching Assistants and experienced and skilled Teachers.

Availability: Full-time (Mon to Fri, 8:20 - 15:30) (Term-time only)

£85 - £95.00 per day (PAYE)

Location: Nursling, Southampton
As a Teaching Assistant you will be working primarily on a 1-1 basis, supporting students with both their academic and their personal development.
Each student will have their own Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP), so if you are familiar with following a Care Plan then you will be able to pick up the skills needed for this very easily.
The students need academic support and reinforcement throughout their day, as well as relevant interventions to support their learning. TEACCH, Autism Awareness, and Restrictive Physical Intervention (e.g. MAPA) trained applicants are highly desired, but not essential.Desirable skills:
- Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN/SEMH)
- Experience supporting children and young adults with Autism (ASC) and learning difficulties
- Strong behaviour management skills, and the ability to deescalate situations
- Resilience, the ability to adapt and respond to children's needs and plan accordingly is a must
- Have a positive cando attitude and be passionate about helping vulnerable children
