Hopscotch is a small friendly Day Nursery, which has been providing complete care for children since 1990.

They provide extremely spacious surroundings, and are registered with the local authority and Ofsted for children up to 5 years.


About the job role
Hopscotch Day Nursery are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join their team.

An interest in wanting to understand and help young children to grow and develop is necessary, and there is plenty of potential to grow and develop in your career.

Fulltraining will be provided. Join a team that is 'Big enough to set the standard but small enough to care'.


Personal qualities and Skills required:


  • A secure understanding of safeguarding
  • Professional, enthusiastic, and passionate about early years
  • Interested in child led approach to early years.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Good organisational skills to plan the day and respond to the different needs of the children you teach
  • Energy, resourcefulness, responsibility, patience, and caring nature.

Duties include:


  • Always provide a safe and secure environment.
  • Help provide a positive environment helping to offer appropriate opportunity for children develop and learn through a choice of well planned activities.
  • Be able to work well within a team and be able to follow training programmes and carry out tasks using your own initiative.
  • Lead activities and/or assist in activities led by another staff member
  • Nappy changing and toilet training.
  • Feeding
  • Communicate in an effective and professional way ensuring all messages and concerns are discussed with your room leader/ manager
  • Attend training days to help support your course work and to ensure that you keep up to date with any course work.

Training to be provided:


  • Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard
  • Functional Skills English and Maths if required.

Supported by one our sector specialist tutors the tutor will deliver teaching sessions using a variety of methods including; face to face, Skype, virtual classroom, face time and telephone and additionallyprovide support and motivation.

Working in partnership with the employer, apprentices will be provided with 'on the job' and 'off the job' training during their paid working hours.
