Long term role to start ASAP
We are currently working with one of our partnering Secondary Schools in Leeds who are looking to recruit a Pastoral Support Worker to work across the school.
Pastoral duties will include:
- Support pupils with consistent, unconditional positive regard, identifying and responding to their individual needs
- Develop a deep and wide ranging understanding of the reasons behind different behaviours
- Use behaviour strategies, to support selfregulation and deescalation in accordance with school policies to effectively support pupils at times of crisis
- Attend to pupils' personal needs including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters
- Establish positive, productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and promoting restorative practice
- Liaise sensitively and effectively with parents and carers
- Supervise pupils on visits, trips and out of school activities as required
- Supervise pupils at lunch and break times
Successful applicants will have:
- Recent experience working in a secondary education setting
- Passion, empathy, and confidence
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively alongside teaching staff
- An uptodate Enhanced DBS Certificate that is on the DBS Update Service (or be willing to undertake a new one)
- Proof of Safeguarding Children at a minimum of Level 1 (or be willing to undergo online training)
