Pastoral Support Worker:

Long term role to start ASAP


We are currently working with one of our partnering Secondary Schools in Leeds who are looking to recruit a Pastoral Support Worker to work across the school.

Experience of working with pupils with SEND would be advantageous. This role is full time and to start ASAP.


Pastoral duties will include:


  • Support pupils with consistent, unconditional positive regard, identifying and responding to their individual needs
  • Develop a deep and wide ranging understanding of the reasons behind different behaviours
  • Use behaviour strategies, to support selfregulation and deescalation in accordance with school policies to effectively support pupils at times of crisis
  • Attend to pupils' personal needs including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters
  • Establish positive, productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and promoting restorative practice
  • Liaise sensitively and effectively with parents and carers
  • Supervise pupils on visits, trips and out of school activities as required
  • Supervise pupils at lunch and break times

Successful applicants will have:


  • Recent experience working in a secondary education setting
  • Passion, empathy, and confidence
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively alongside teaching staff
  • An uptodate Enhanced DBS Certificate that is on the DBS Update Service (or be willing to undertake a new one)
  • Proof of Safeguarding Children at a minimum of Level 1 (or be willing to undergo online training)
