Description

Senior Policy Specialist on Women's Economic Justice

London (hybrid working)

£44,747 - £46,040

Permanent, full-time

ActionAid UK is a member of the ActionAid Federation, an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty. As part of the ActionAid Federation, we work with women and girls, our partners, and dedicated staff in 43 countries to end violence and fight poverty so that all women, everywhere, can create the future they want.

Are you a Policy Specialist with an excellent background in women's economic justice and women's rights?

Are you enthusiastic and focused on influencing policies on both a world stage and here within the UK?
Then we'd love to hear from you.

The Research and Programmes Policy unit is comprised of policy and technical advisers who develop and advance policy perspectives and programme-led learning to ActionAid UK's target donors, influencers, academic audiences and policy makers.

You will be able to make an impact through your analysis and help AAUK contribute to the wider vision, objective and conversation on Women's economic justice, women's rights and feminist alternatives looking at issues of unpaid care, social protection, critiquing macroeconomic policies of IMF and World Bank and influencing policies on a world stage.

The role requires a specialist who will bring research skills and influencing ability in the area of Women's Economic Justice, and a spirit of collaboration to AAUK as it delivers on its 2 year Bridging Strategy with its primary aim of building an anti-racist and decolonial organisation

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside other decolonial, intersectional feminists in the UK and in the majority world, as well as people from other CSOs, research institutes and members in the policy space.

This could be your career opportunity to contribute to a larger vision of achieving women's economic rights by supporting and building global and grassroots movements.

You will also have every opportunity to hone your own research, analysis, writing, as well as networking skills and produce policy products that aim to spur change and conversations.

Some things to consider:

ActionAid is committed to supporting flexible working.

If you would like to discuss flexible working options, including the possibility of a job share for this role, there will be space to do so during the interview process.

We have offices in London and Somerset.

We are currently piloting a hybrid working model and you can agree the days you work at home with your manager, however, you are expected to attend team meetings and other events in-person as requested.

Please do bear in mind the rules around hybrid working may change in 2023 when the pilot ends.

Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging are key to our organisational culture.

We are on a journey to become not only an anti-racist organisation but one that proudly celebrates the diversity of all applicants and employees.

We look forward to you bringing your full self to work, proudly sharing your unique perspective and helping us to shape our combined future.

If we receive a very high response, we may close the vacancy early and will not accept further submissions.
