Would you like to enhance your professional experience whilst gaining an insight into financial support for students in Scotland?

If your answer is yes, and you are available May/June to September/October 2023, then Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) have some exciting short term posts for you to join our Operations Team

These are short Fixed Term Appointment of 5-6 months.

Contract start and end dates are flexible, starting May and June with an end date up to the end of October.


Working in SAAS Operations, these roles are diverse and challenging, covering a wide range of duties with a primary focus being delivering excellent external customer service, helping manage priorities and competing seasonal demands.

You will deal with customer queries though our helpline and webchat service and there will be a requirement to provide cover on a rota basis from 9:00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.


Working as part of our Contact Centre or within our Processing Teams, you will be customer focussed and take responsibility for producing accurate assessments and recommendations to meet demand.

You will adapt quickly to changing priorities and procedures and be aware of how your actions may impact on others, particularly students and your immediate colleagues.


Responsibilities:


  • Establish and maintain a professional, helpful, and accurate service to college, university, Student Loan Company (SLC) staff and other external and internal stakeholders.
  • Respond to change in priorities and the ability to be flexible to take on additional ad hoc duties as required.

  • Proven ability of being a team player who is able to work flexibly.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience of using IT packages for example Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Additional Information
SAAS has separate arrangements from core Scottish Government for Public and Privilege holidays.

After taking up post in SAAS you will take the Spring Friday and Monday holiday in late May/early June together with the September half day.

SAAS office is fully closed between Christmas and New Year.


If you are successful in this role and not based in the UK, you must to be willing to relocate to within a reasonable distance of Edinburgh, Scotland.
