The role is based in Northamptonshire, in the town of Rushden.
The Rushden site is a centre of excellence for Radiolabelled Sciences incorporating both Metabolism (which includes Clinical Metabolism, Pre-clinical ADME, In vitro and DDI services, Large Molecule Metabolism, Environmental Fate, Plant Metabolism and Metabolite Identification) in addition to Chemistry (which includes API and IMP manufacture).

The position we are seeking to fill is for an EHS advisor to ensure that the appropriate standards of EHS are maintained across the Rushden site.

Responsibilities:
- Develop EHS policies.
- Implement site EHS systems, procedures, policies, programs, strategies and training to identify, reduce or eliminate risks.
- Manage the sites system of radiological and environment surveys, ensuring compliance with company and statutory regulations, maintaining accurate records of all tests and surveys in the approved format to meet regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with the sites EPR2016 permit as well as IRR2017, REPPIR201
- Participate and assist with the site risk assessment process.
- Provide assistance to facilities, staff and contractor's radiological / environmental safety and waste assessments.
- Supervise and train staff as required for EHS requirements
- Work closely with the site H&S Manager/Site Director and others to have in place a strategy that ensures compliance for the site and employees for EHS.
- Work proactively with the Management and other key internal stakeholders to establish and maintain a program of continuous improvement in the management of EHS within their areas of responsibility, which includes conducting regular audits.
- Direct, manage and provide expertise for incident investigations, case management, near misses, environmental and/or equipment damage.
- Work with site/group on the ESG and SBTi initiatives to allow strategy for site
- Prepare monthly reports and make presentations to the Management
Qualification
- GCSE level or equivalent
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience as an accident investigator and skilled in the use of Root Cause Analysis techniques
- Experience in mapping and improving processes and systems
Desirable Requirements:
- NEBOSH General certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent / membership of a professional body (e.g., Chartered or in progress)
- Relevant work experience within CRO / Pharmaceutical environment/chemical laboratory
- Experience of compliance
- Experience of radiation protection
