As an apprentice Business Administrator, you will work to support the Marshall Skills Academy business to deliver extraordinary technical and apprenticeship training.

You will be a valuable member of the team ensuring everything is scheduled, systems are updated, customers are satisfied, the team is supported and everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

The business is undergoing an exciting period of growth so there are lots of opportunities to get involved in projects and make a real difference.

Duties of an Apprentice Business Administrator:

  • Attend and engage with training, including exams and 1-2-1 meetings with your tutors/assessors
  • Manage your time effectively to complete all coursework, assignments and exams required to achieve the apprenticeship
  • Reflect on your own practice and experiences and take any feedback onboard
  • Support the Senior Leadership and wider skills academy team with administrative support
  • Learn to manage room bookings, meeting minutes and calendar invites
  • Learn about the UK Apprenticeship Standards and become familiar with ESFA, Ofsted, City & Guilds, EAL and other requirements related to Apprenticeships
  • Learn about the Technical training programmes we deliver and requirements under the CAA to assist with admin support
  • Assist with pulling together surveys and feedback
  • Ensure facilities are set up and ready for activity
  • Assist with onboarding and induction activities
  • Learn to maintain all systems and online platforms related to the training we deliver
  • Manage shared inboxes, folders and resources
  • Assist with financial management and reporting including issuing of invoices
  • Assist with any internal audits for City & Guilds, EAL, ESFA, Ofsted, CAA
  • Support community outreach activity and events
  • Assist with recruitment activities including assessment centres
  • Work on projects with other members of the team to assist with our growth plans and objectives
  • Assist with administration on our international training activities including assisting with travel planning, booking flights etc.
The Apprenticeship


Your apprenticeship will be delivered by one of our partner training providers under the supervision of the Marshall Skills Academy.

As a Business Administration Apprentice working in our Skills Academy business you will be following the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard.

During this 18 month programme you will work towards developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours required through a range of on the job learning and meetings with your assessor.

Not only will you develop your technical skills you will also have the opportunity to develop the behaviours needed to set the foundation for your future career.

You will be supported every step of the way by our instructors, mentors, line managers and fellow apprentices.

Entry requirements

  • You will need to have 5 GCSE's A*C/ 49 including Maths and English or equivalent
  • In order to receive apprenticeship funding you must have the right to work in the UK and meet residency eligibility requirements
  • You must successfully pass all required medical and security checks if you are offered a place on the apprenticeship programme
