Primary duties include:

  • Offering administrative assistance to the Benefits Expert.
  • Informing the Department for Work and Pensions about any changes that could affect the amount of Welfare Benefit income, following instructions given.
  • Helping in both preparing and submitting appeals for tribunal hearings, and acting as a representative for clients unable to represent themselves.
  • Supporting the creation and delivery of communications related to Welfare Benefits training for both internal and external colleagues, as conducted by the Benefits Expert.

The Successful Applicant:


Necessary skills include:

  • A dedication to providing outstanding client service and a passion for Court of Protection activities.
  • Advanced proficiency in IT, especially with programs like Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication abilities, both verbally and in writing, with the capability to interact directly with clients as needed.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Superior organisational capabilities.
  • Good numerical skills.
  • A solid commitment to teamwork.
  • Proficient administrative abilities.

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of Court of Protection processes and the duties of a deputy according to OPG guidelines and Welfare Benefits.
  • A fundamental understanding of the Mental Health Act.
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable adults who are incapacitated.
