Job Introduction


You will be providing a vital administrative support service to National Grid Electricity Distribution business and will be involved in various key activities, predominantly for Unmetered Supplies however could also include work in other Records areas.

Hybrid working will be considered for this role after a period of 6 months.

You will need to have at least 4 GCSEs
OR equivalent in order to apply.


Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.


If you are offered a position, you will be required to successfully complete a basic DBS check that shows any unspent convictions or conditional cautions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and updating inventory records.
  • Dealing with and resolving inventory queries.
  • Raising Unmetered Records and Connection Agreements for new customers.
  • Processing paper and electronic inventories received from customers, such as Street Lighting Authorities.
  • Providing summary inventories to Meter Administrators for Half Hourly Customers.
  • Carrying out spot checks from CROWN New Supply connection records against customer inventories.
  • Ensuring adoption of new housing development unmetered connections are added to customer inventories.
  • Assisting with the arranging and analysis of physical unmetered audits.
  • Assisting customers with coding queries and industry changes.
  • Issuing data flows to Suppliers and Non-Half Hourly Data Collectors to ensure customers are billed timely.
  • Analysis of ICP (Independent Connection Provider) connections.


Although this position is primarily based within the Unmetered Supplies Team, you may be required to assist in any of the other Records sections as required.
