WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Business area introduction

The role will primarily involve the maintenance of institutional client relationships with regards to leveraged loans and fixed income/high yield credit products.

The role will mean daily contact not only with clients but our internal stakeholders to include but not be limited to syndicate, trading, research and DCM.

The role will involve working as part of the Loan Sales team, and also work closely with the UK credit sales team.

It will also require the individual to build relationships across the product offering to include other private credit products across CIB.

Coordinate the sourcing and execution of syndicated loans opportunities in the secondary market, either for the loan trading book or for the balance sheet of the bank.

Key activities

Advising on investments, dealing and arranging in relation to the provision of advice
Giving advice in relation to corporate finance business
Contacting clients or dealing with the property of the client in relation to the firm's activities of dealing or arranging deals in investments
The applicant must be able to demonstrate an ability to work within a close knit team who are required to provide seamless back up for one another.
Be aware of the P&L impact of their trades and be sure to not breach any limits.
Drive client sales to derisk Santander CIB underwriting and trading positions.
Help to interact with other departments internally such as middle office and back office.
Help the development of more junior team members.
Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing with strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
All aspects of client coverage typical of a credit sales role.

What we're looking for

Educated to Degree level essential
Direct experience of selling fixed income products to institutional investors essential.
Knowledge of the Loan product essential
Strong Client network across the sectors essential
Knowledge of Fixed income products beyond just credit (e.g. govts, EM)

What else you need to know

This role is based in our Triton Square office in London, conveniently located within walking distance from Euston Station and Warren Street Station.

Given the recent impact of the Coronavirus outbreak we will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible.
