The Associated Press, a renowned global news organization with a rich history, is looking for an MCR Operator to join its London office and be part of the Global MCR team.

  • Main responsibilities:
  • Operating AP MCRs in London, Washington DC, and New York
  • Supporting various AP departments with MCR and digital production systems
  • Quality monitoring of video and audio signals
  • Ensuring high technical quality through backup procedures
  • Performing satellite transmission and reception operations
  • Operating AP's global fibre network
  • Reporting and resolving faults

The role involves shift work, including nights and requires fluency in English.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Experience in a fast-paced Master control room
  • Knowledge of satellite transmission techniques
  • Experience with Video Production & Content Management systems
  • Understanding of file-based production workflows
  • Knowledge of international satellite and fibre networks
  • Understanding of compression and Video over IP technologies
