Description

Financial Markets Department covers both trading book and banking book activities for Bank of China London Branch and Bank of China (UK) Limited.

As a Senior Associate - FX Sales, you will be responsible for an allocated client portfolio to develop the client's FX, rates and commodity derivative business.

You will also support the Sales Team in promoting and cross-selling the Bank's products to achieve flows and profits meeting the Bank's targets and you will support with developing additional markets products and tasks to expand the Bank's markets clients.

This is a full time permanent position.


Key responsibilities

  • Coverage (joint or independent) of a portfolio of markets corporate counterparties for predominantly FX derivatives & MM deposits with occasional opportunities for rates and commodity hedging
  • Maintain close dialogue with customer and relevant stakeholders
  • Collaborate with relationship managers, product partners and all internal stakeholders as well as other Bank of China (BOC) branches to determine new opportunities to bundle existing products and/or drive new crossproduct development in response to local clients' need
  • Support with onboarding process of new deposit and markets clients and help with regular client maintenance
  • Participate in projects to establish new derivative products within the Bank and help to develop the client business
  • Support the Relationship Team in marketing to the Bank's corporate clients and help to convert existing lending clients into markets counterparties
  • Monitor and support the relevant teams with ISDA negotiations for the Team's clients
  • Support Team with daily update of counterparty credit limits in EFX platforms, sharing MM rates to clients, contributing to the daily sales & trading call, dealing & booking derivatives & MM deposits, monitoring client credit limits and exposure, and markets commentary
  • Review and complete all relevant administrative document including endofday trade checks and liaise with various support functions as required
  • Monitor flows via EFX platforms (360T, FXAll, Bloomberg FXGO) and adjust pricing parameters accordingly
  • Produce regular or adhoc reports on client flows, EFX, macroeconomic themes and other topics
  • Monitor FX and derivative markets and share relevant news with clients and colleagues
  • Prepare market updates and client pitch material
  • Undertake regular business analysis and specific reports including stress testing and scenario analysis for client's credit exposure
  • Regular analysis of revenue, volume and credit exposure for local client base
  • Undergo regular regulatory, compliance and internal trainings as required

Requirements:


  • Degree educated in Banking, Finance or other equivalent
  • Working towards or obtained CISI Capital Markets qualification, including UK Financial Regulations, Securities & Derivatives
  • Demonstrated experience in relevant business area
  • Knowledge of Financial Markets products and regulatory compliance, counterparty credit risk, ISDA, CSA, or XVA
  • Familiarity with market data sources
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg and Reuters is desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Capacity to proactively anticipate, identify and resolve problems
  • Strategy oriented with ability to multitask
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in Mandarin is preferred
