Operations Supervisor - Belfast
Shift = Weekend (3 x 12 hour days)
Shift allowance applies
Summary
Supervise Production within the Site across the weekend shift, with a focus on Manufacturing Quality, efficiency, and Customer Satisfaction.
The role ensures that products are manufactured in accordance with the Quality standards expected of a Class 3 Medical Device.
Leads Manufacturing Excellence and more complex change initiatives across the business.Key Areas of Responsibility
- Plan and manage the daytoday allocation of resources (equipment, people, materials and systems) in order to efficiently, safely and cost effectively achieve production targets
- Responsible to ensure daily achievement of targets and report variances during on the floor and off floor business review meetings
- Coach, mentor and develop team members to meet current and future business requirements
- Champion and lead change initiatives and continuous improvement efforts, including lean and continuous improvement.
- Create and maintain a safe and positive work environment.
- Lead and participate in cross functional and cross divisional process improvement initiatives communicate and participate in system and process troubleshooting with support team members and with external agents.
- Manage Operations HR duties in a timely and professional manner.
- Utilise capacity planning tools to align customer requests with plant capability.
- Provide an excellent level of customer service with clear communication.
- Lead the Management for Daily Improvement process
- Lead Operations recruitment of additional team members.
- Manage people to effectively operate in accordance with work instructions and procedures
- Manage growth, evaluate and deploy a range of continuous improvement and lean techniques to optimise Production performance
- Deliver against customer expectations of quality and Lead Time Performance
- Utilise a root cause, problem solving methodology in the investigation of nonconforming processes or products observed in the operations and stores areas
- Owner of NC/CAPA
- And: Any other duties deemed necessary by Management
Required Qualifications:
GSCE:
Grade C or above in Maths and English
Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications/Experience:
Continuous improvement or process improvement experience. Green belt or black belt certification preferred.
Experience
5 years' Experience within a Manufacturing Supervisory role
Previous supervisory experience in Medical Device manufacturing desirable
Specific Knowledge:
Knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality systems in a Manufacturing Environment

System/Computer Requirements:
Microsoft Office, SAP or equivalent ERP system
